VOTE!

Bradon, PLEASE give me a reason to vote for Obama besides the fact that he's black and that you "should be on the side of history." Please tell me why I should vote for Obama because my intellect won't allow me to do it, my conscience won't allow me to do...

Obviously, because he's black is not a reason to vote for him. As I stated, if, after examining the issues, you still can't decide, then ride the wave of history.

But you sir, have already decided, so spilling my guts for you is time and energy wasted! :-)

I was just about to say (and almost nearly resisted)....

If you haven't been convinced by all his other posts on just that very topic for months on this blog - and the evidence on display for 2 years everywhere else - why would you expect a grainy minute-long video of Brandon to suddenly do the job? You're suddenly asking to be convinced? Well, finally!

You've decided, Matt. Brandon's previous arguments and the 2 year campaign have failed to convince you that Obama is worthy of your vote. And that's fine. I'll give you the benefit of the doubt and assume you've given everything your careful consideration. But it's a little disingenuous to act like 60 seconds of Brandon talking on the day before the election is the only argument that's ever been offered, just so you have one last opportunity to rail. Sheesh.

Just vote for McCain tomorrow. It's OK. He might still pull it out, after all.

And if he doesn't, you can still help undermine Obama's victory by stoking rumors of a thousand ACORN-grown conspiracies! Hooray.

No. I will not vote. It is NOT my responsibility, nor is it a privilege. It is a farce of a political system that pits man against his fellow man in a race to the bottom. I will make my voice heard by remaining silent.

Stalin or Hitler? Gambino or Genovese? "When you're facing a loaded gun, what's the difference?"

I would prefer it that I would vote for someone in spite of the color of their skin... if for example, Obama were conservative, he would be a shoo-in for my vote.

I recall the 2000 Republican primary when I cast my vote Alan Keyes and he was overwhelmingly the most conservative voice of any of the Republicans on the ticket that year.

I can't vote for a liberal if I'm not a liberal. And the choices this year are very clear if you vote on that basis, not on the basis of "riding history." Heck, even if you do vote for McCain, you are voting for history as well, because of Governor Palin.

If anything, I would implore anyone to not vote for Obama on the basis of the need for a divided government. The possibility of a filibuster proof senate is not something I look forward to...

Sorry, Matt. I call bullshit on you. If you really believed it was about conservatism, you would heed the call of the multitude of conservatives who have endorsed Obama. Like----

Jeffrey Hart, speechwriter for Reagan and Nixon, and National Review writer:
"Obama is the true conservative, the Burkean...This analysis could be extended, but it seems clear to me that Obama is the conservative in the 2008 election."

Wick Alison, former editor of National Review:
"I now see that Obama is almost the ideal candidate for this moment in American history. I disagree with him on many issues. But those don’t matter as much as what Obama offers, which is a deeply conservative view of the world."

So, at least be honest. When you say "conservative," you mean Palinesque, not classically conservative.

Nicely done Brandon, and a perfect backdrop. We dropped off our ballots last weekend, and I'm eagerly anticipating the tally tomorrow. It's a weird feeling to be this genuinely excited about a presidential candidate, I feel like a painted up sports fan who's team is in the championship game. Let's go OBAMA!

Wonderful video, Brandon, and I voted last week for Barack Obama. Two Obama signs have been stolen from the lawn, so now there is one safely in the porch window with no attempts at breaking the window. I am pleased to report, by the way, that I have converted some Republicans to vote Democratic--and Palin helped a lot on this!

I can't believe your sister waited SIX HOURS to vote in CA, that's unbelievable. In Britain everyone gets the day off to vote; no-one should be forced to lose wages.

"So, at least be honest. When you say "conservative," you mean Palinesque, not classically conservative."

Reacher, I am a conservative of the Buckley/Reagan/Gingrich model - I hope that the "Palinesqe" comment was not meant in a negative connotation...

If at anytime I use the term "Palinesque," you can rest assured I'm using it as a pejorative.

You did a decent job on your video, but with my late comment on this post I can only say that I am glad I voted "the other way" because then I have the right to complain...

But we'll wait and see...

I am sure that he won't be all bad...
